Sweetness is one of the five basic tastes and is universally regarded as a pleasurable experience, except perhaps in excess. Foods rich in simple carbohydrates such as sugar are those most commonly associated with sweetness, although there are other natural and artificial compounds that are sweet at much lower concentrations, allowing their use as non-caloric sugar substitutes. Examples of foods that may be used as non-sugar sweet substitutes include saccharin, aspartame, acesulfame potassium, sucralose, xylitol, erythritol, and stevia. Other compounds, such as miraculin, may alter perception of sweetness itself.
The chemosensory basis for detecting sweetness, which varies between both individuals and species, has only begun to be understood since the late 20th century. One theoretical model of sweetness is the multipoint attachment theory, which involves multiple binding sites between a sweetness receptor and a sweet substance.
Blue is the colour between violet and green on the optical spectrum of visible light. Human eyes perceive blue when observing light with a wavelength between 450 and 495 nanometres. Blues with a higher frequency and thus a shorter wavelength gradually look more violet, while those with a lower frequency and a longer wavelength gradually appear more green. Pure blue, in the middle, has a wavelength of 470 nanometres. In painting and traditional colour theory, blue is one of the three primary colours of pigments, along with red and yellow, which can be mixed to form a wide gamut of colours. Red and blue mixed together form violet, blue and yellow together form green. Blue is also a primary colour in the RGB colour model, used to create all the colours on the screen of a television or computer monitor.
The modern English word blue comes from Middle English bleu or blewe, from the Old French bleu, a word of Germanic origin, related to the Old High German word blao. The clear sky and the deep sea appear blue because of an optical effect known as Rayleigh scattering. When sunlight passes through the atmosphere, the blue wavelengths are scattered more widely by the oxygen and nitrogen molecules, and more blue comes to our eyes. Rayleigh scattering also explains blue eyes; there is no blue pigment in blue eyes. Distant objects appear more blue because of another optical effect called atmospheric perspective.
Darling is a term of endearment of Anglo-Saxon origin.

John Jorgenson, Doug Mattocks and Charlie Warren, the original Thunder Mountain Boys, added virtuoso guitarist Raul Reynoso to the band after Dick Hardwick left to fill the role of Pecos Bill at Disneyland's famous Golden Horseshoe Review. Looking for Hardwick's replacement became almost a comedy routine when Jorgenson asked Mattocks, who knew Reynoso only slightly, to call Raul and ask him to join. Mattocks was against the call thinking that since Raul was already working for 5-string banjo phenom, Larry McNeely, he wouldn't be interested - BUT - John insisted and the call made. The first question out of Mattocks's mouth to Raul was, "You don't want to work with us at Disneland........... do you?" Raul immediately said yes and then Mattocks went into a long ramblin' rant on why Rey...

Playing Bill Monroe's My Sweet Blue Eyed Darlin' at Mackenzie//Bidgood's Folk Sessions at the East Dulwich Tavern.
Rocky Neck Bluegrass Band is back with Bluegrass Stomp. Their long-awaited full-length is both a hearkening back to traditional bluegrass roots and a deviation from the typical bluegrass formula. Fusing elements of soulful blues, laid-back country, and story-rich folk, the band blaze their own trail through ten fresh tracks. From the relaxed melodic romp of the title track to the uptempo bounce of “Rocky Road Blues,” Rocky Neck are unapologetically old-timey and proud of it. Songs like “Way Downtown” perfectly exhibit the band’s ability to perform traditional bluegrass with a contemporary voice to form a style all their own. And even though Rocky Neck are a bluegrass band, they’re unafraid to borrow from other styles, as proved by the countrified “I Hope You’re The End Of My Story.” Devi...

This time is special for you
I don't think you ever fell for someone like I do
Every now and then I think of you
But this time is time for rock on
Hey, do you remember the time I took you after class?
I think you were going to find something special of me
But then when you turned around you broke my heart like a glass
I think you should never be like that to someone like me
This time I will let you down
This time I will never give you to
This time I will set you free
And only tonight you will be mine
Every now and then I think about you
And this pain is making me feel so
Alive is the word but I think better off
Without you I would be
I damn you my sweet blue eye darlin'
I couldn't stop sinking for you
Even if you never let me be
The man you wanted to see
My sweet blue eye darlin'
My sweet blue eye darlin'
My sweet blue eye darlin'
My sweet blue eye darlin'
